My love and appreciation for music came through my father. He grew up in England during World War II. He often told me of how during times of intense stress, like when the ‘Doodle Bugs’ were ominously flying overhead to the terrifying wail of air raid sirens.
My dad and his family would take shelter under the dinner table. Their intense fear was kept at bay by telling stories and singing songs for hours and hours…until the dangers finally subsided.
In our current time of Covid-19 stress and the unknowns for the future, music is once again the thing that keeps us soothed and engaged and maybe just a little less fearful.
Whether learning how to play an instrument for the first time, honing your skills to that next level or just to listen…music will embrace us and keep us comforted.
This holds true during challenging times and joyful times…this holds true at all times.

Ever since we were kids learning how to play our instruments by listening to great music, there was always a 45 record and adapter around. We’d put it on the record player and listen til the grooves wore out!
Our first product- The Gigpad Leaning Guitar Rest was inspired by the 45 record adapter. Gigpad is a great portable aid to help guitarists on small stages lean guitars against amps etc. with anti-slip and body bottom protection. The 45 adapter shape is perfect for lifting the weight off your guitar bottom and strap peg.
It doesn’t stop there! The 45 adapter shape continues to be awesome for us. It’s also excellent for lessening unwanted vibrations and nasty rumble when placed under a speaker. Resulting in ‘uncolored’ sound.. the way it was meant to be heard.
You’ll also notice an aesthetic tribute to record grooves and the 45 adapter in Groovpad- our patented practice pad for drummers.

We are all about efficiency. Gigpad is a quicker and more efficient alternative to traditional guitar stands. Especially handy where there is very little room- like tiny stages or practice rooms. Just toss a Gigpad in front of your amp, put your guitar on it and lean it against your amp and that’s it! No stands to trip over or tangle cables on. Gigpad also adds padding in your case during travel. With Gigpad’s cool retro 45 adapter look, instantly you’ve become the coolest person in the band!
Traditional pads are too cumbersome and most have an unnatural bounce. They use a bulky plastic or metal base. This does nothing but limit portability and bump up manufacturing costs. These costs gets offset by the use of a cheaper rubber, resulting in unrealistic feel. Groovpad is made with 100% premium quality, proprietary rubber. No plastic. No bulk.

All returns require a return authorization number (RA#), and it must be written clearly on the front of the package. You can obtain and RA# only by e-mail at groovpad.ca@gmail.com. We will not accept any return without an RA#. Gigpad Music will only issue an RA# within 7 days of receiving your product and are subject to a minimum 25% restocking fee. Defective merchandise will only be replaced by the same item. Items must be postmarked no later than three (3) business days after an RA# is issued. The freight charges will be deducted on top the restocking charge, and actual freight charges will be deducted from orders qualifying for “free” shipping.
2. Returns must contain all original packaging, components, manuals and warranty cards where applicable and must be properly packed for shipping. We will inspect all returns for signs of abuse and wear and additional charges may apply.
3. There are no returns on special order, non-stock, discontinued or clearance items, software, earphones, books, compact discs, DVDs, harmonicas, pitch pipes, any instrument that comes in contact with your mouth, tubes, fuses, used or opened strings, drum sticks, drum heads, cartridges, picks, or clothing. Groovpad 5A value drumsticks may have cosmetic blemishes, this is normal. An RA would only be issued upon our inspection and conclusion that the sticks are deemed to be not straight. Gigpad Music reserves the right to make such a determination.
4. Gigpad Music does not offer cash refunds. You will be refunded using the same payment processing system as with the original purchase.
5. Some instruments and products may require assembly or maintenance and adjustments. Do not attempt to repair or alter any products beyond their intended specifications.

The Shore durometer (hardness or softness) of our premium grade rubber was fine tuned to replicate the feel of an actual snare drum head. This in turn allows you to develop the fine hand motor skills required to build technique and apply it to a whole drum kit.
Practicing rudiments on a Groovpad will lead to increased speed, accuracy and finesse on a full kit.

Hey there! I’m Tom Lewis, the founder and main ideas guy behind Gigpad Music.
We at Gigpad Music are musicians first and foremost. Our goal is to make innovative and inspired, top quality MI products that will last.
We test and develop our products in the field: at the wide variety of gigs and studios we work at. We find out what’s needed, what works and what doesn’t, from real world experience. We don’t hurry products out to market before getting them right.
Throughout the years, I’ve been fortunate to be a first call bassist for many recording acts. In becoming a professional I learned that reliability, quality and integrity was crucial to maintaining success. The same holds true for Gigpad Music.
During my formative years studying everyone from McCartney and Jaco, to Squire, Jamerson and Flea, 45 vinyl records were always laying around the house.
As a kind of tribute to those days, our first few products- Gigpad leaning guitar rest, Wavpad acoustic isolation pads and Groovpad practice pads, are all about the ‘45’ record and adapter.
